I am very pleased to learn about this initiative and would like to provide my full support for it, even though my profesional activities have been confined to North America for more than 15 years now. However, knowing the reach institutional expertise and institutional memory of various organizations listed as part of this initiative, I am confident that it will produce invaluable results and contribute greatly to successful management and protection of karst water resources in this part of the world. Research of and utilization of karst water resources have their roots in this region and I believe that sharing the combined and accumlated knowledge of the working professionals from this region will add tremendously to the global understanding of similar challenges and problem-solving in other regions of the world.
